Perfect for families, walkers, surfers and mountain bikers, we are a short drive from Compton Bay offering some of the best surfing on the Island. While playing golf at the nearby Freshwater course, some of the best views of the West Wight can be seen.
West Wight has very little
light pollution, making it ideal for astronomy weekends whilst the glorious
sunsets will inspire painting and photography by all ages and skill levels.
The
coastline at Brook and Compton is famous for its preserved dinosaur footprints.
At the bottom of our site is the coastal walk which offers easy access for beaches,
geology studies, dinosaur remains etc.
Fishing for sea bass and mackerel in the summer can be rewarding, especially when cooked on the barbeque afterwards.

Brighstone Holiday Centre is a family run site that was originally built in
1932 and is possibly the only one of its type left in the country, whilst we
are trying to preserve the period charm of the site we try very hard to provide
clean modern facilities for all who stay with us.
The nickname "Dinosaur Island" is well deserved. Students of geology, dinosaurs, Roman artefacts and remains are well served as the island has an abundance of museums, geological features and places of interest all within easy reach.
The
site currently has 12 B&B rooms, which can each cater for 2 or 3 students
comfortably. The rooms are in 2 rows of 6, which makes for easy separation of
genders, with teachers having the use of nearby self catering units.
We have drying facilities for boots and wet clothing should the weather be unkind.
Breakfasts and evening meals, when required, are served in our function room which can also be used for talks, studies, slide shows etc.
Our indoor pool is heated Easter to October. At 18 metres by 9 metres, it can be a good way to burn excess energy at the end of the day.
Students are usually catered for on a breakfast and evening meal basis. A packed lunch can be provided on request. Menus are agreed in advance of arrival at the centre. Vegetarians and specialised diets are therefore easily catered for.
The nearest public house is 1 mile away in Brighstone village, thus reducing alcohol problems with students away from home.
